Leadership starts from within.
How I work in practice

Every collaboration starts with a goal: sometimes clear, sometimes still emerging. We begin with your current reality and work on the situations that matter most. This expands your options — and strengthens your confidence in handling them.

When good communication isn't enough

Many leaders know how good communication should work.

And yet some situations do not change through communication techniques alone:

  • People react less openly than expected.
  • Decisions take longer than they should.
  • You find yourself no longer able to shape your role in the way you want to.

What looks like an implementation issue is often a leadership issue: unclear roles, unspoken dynamics, conflicting expectations, or pressure in the system.

That is where our work begins.

What really matters in Leadership Situations

In challenging leadership situations, what matters is not only what is said. What you perceive, what you do not say, how others interpret your role, and which expectations remain unspoken all influence what happens next.

We work with concrete situations from your day-to-day leadership practice. Together, we identify patterns, clarify assumptions, and develop options for action that fit both you and the context.

The foundation of my work

My work is grounded in scientifically informed coaching and organizational development approaches, always adapted to your specific situation.

I look at leadership not in isolation, but in the interplay between the person, the role, and the organizational context. The methods I use help make complex situations clearer and expand the range of possible courses of action.

How I work in practice

1. Understanding the system

Leadership is viewed as the interplay of role, expectations, and context. This helps explain why certain situations arise and repeat.

2. Working with internal dynamics

We include the inner aspects of leadership: reactions, ambivalence, tension, and the pressure to act. With methods such as hypnosystemic approaches, we strengthen clarity and inner stability under pressure.

3. Developing options for action

We focus on what is already working and where effective action can begin. This leads to realistic options that can be implemented in everyday leadership.

4. Shifting perspectives

Structured reflection and reframing help make recurring dynamics visible and open up new ways of dealing with them.

5. Understanding personality

When useful, I draw on tools such as MBTI, Reiss Motivation Profile, or the Big Five to understand patterns in perception, motivation, and behavior.

The framework of our collaboration

Our collaboration is tailored to your day-to-day leadership reality. We can work virtually, in my coaching room in Rösrath, at your company, or at the Rotonda Business Club in Cologne or Düsseldorf.

The process usually includes six to eight sessions over several months. This creates a clear structure that can be integrated into a demanding schedule while allowing progress to unfold and take hold.

Professional standards in my work

My work is guided by the quality and ethical standards of the German Federal Association for Business Coaching (DBVC), as well as by clear professional standards in coaching. The DBVC stands for binding quality criteria, sound training, and transparent ethical guidelines.

Through regular supervision, ongoing professional development, and professional exchange, I ensure the quality of my work and provide professional support even in challenging situations.

Frequently Asked Questions

What sets your approach apart from that of other coaches?

I do not work with off-the-shelf solutions. We start with your specific leadership situation and your concrete goal. That goal may be clearly defined — or it may become clearer as we work. We involve you as a person: your experience, your leadership style, and your key factors. The process is structured and open enough for what emerges, so that the outcome can be implemented in your everyday work.

Why might working together make sense for you?

It makes sense if you want to reflect on your role more consciously, understand your leadership situations more deeply, and use that understanding to make sound decisions. It is especially useful when you are looking for an independent, structured exchange on equal footing.

Do I need to have clearly formulated my request in advance?

No. Often, the starting point is simply the sense that something is not quite right or that something needs to change. Through our conversation, it gradually becomes clear what the issue is and where it makes sense to begin.

How is this different from a training session or seminar?

The focus is your specific situation, not a standard model. It is not primarily about learning new techniques, but about expanding your existing options so that you can act differently in crucial moments.

How can I tell if this collaboration is right for me?

The best way is to schedule a first conversation. During that meeting, we discuss your situation and your needs, and you get a sense of how our collaboration works.

First conversation

During a first virtual consultation, we get to know each other and discuss what you are looking for. You will get a sense of how I work — and whether working together would be a good fit for you.

The session lasts about 30 minutes and is non-binding. Please select a convenient time directly from the calendar.
